no sound tests in 3dmark03 with a soundcard?

seems strange, i just put in a av7.10 soundcard and i get music, sounds, etc, but if i run 3dmark03 no sound tests? not that it matters much, just curious as to why.

If you run 'dxdiag', what does it show under the Sound tab? Do the sound tests there work?

I'm almost certain 3DMark03 just uses DirectSound. It could be a driver bug with the card or program?

hmm, says all sounds passed test but it also stopped me after several tests with a "your sound card does not support hardware buffering ..."

i wonder if thats it? my old rig with onboard sound didn't play them either. the karojen (sp) sound that came with the dfi board did.

Well, the AV710 doesn't have an on-board DSP. The message is current.

so thats why 3dmark wont test it?

Yes. This is normal with 3dmark03. I have an AV710 in my #2 box.
