No sound, please help

I've just recently flash upgraded my motherboard BIOS (it's a Gigabyte GA-7ZM by the way) and now I can't get any sound from my Soundblaster 128. I've disabled the onboard soundcard from the BIOS in both places and still I can't get anything out of it. Is there anything I should be doing that I'm not? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

1) have you installed the drivers?
2) it could be that you didn't put the card in properly, just try taking the card out and then putting it back in. If that doesn't work, try some different slots.
3) check in device manager if your sound card is ok. If there's a red x or a yellow !, that means it's not ok. Try calling manufacturer. To check device manager, right click my computer>properties>device manager tab.

...hope this is helpfull.

Yep, all the right drivers have been installed and everything is working as it should in the device manager. The card has been working perfectly for over a year now, the only changes I've made are to the BIOS so I assume that's the problem. Fixing it is a different matter though 🙁

I don't know how your boios works...so i can't help you there...try going back to the older settings. If that doesn't work, try going back to the older bios (if you still can) that you had previously. Make sure you have the older settings to. Sorry if i'm not a help..

ok, i have absolutely no idea if this would make a difference since the drivers are all set up correctly, but perhaps there is a jumper on the MB that you have to switch? I know that for my onboard sound (k7 master) there is a jumper on the lower left that activates/disengages the onboard sounds.

However, I don't know how it would affect my sound card if the jumper were "connected"

What does it have listed for playback?

Double-click the volume control (speaker icon)
is anything muted?
