I realize that there is another thread about this, but did not want to hijack it.
I have an an35n ultra shuttle Nforce 2 board.here
Specs are seen here.
It says the onboard sound supports 6 channel audio.
The three audio plugs on the motherboard(green, blue, pink) are used with 6 channel sound as green being front out, blue is rear out, and the pink is center/bass. In the manual it states this. There are 3 plugs from the speakers that go into the motherboard(green - front out) (black - rear out) (orange - center/bass out). I plugged each one to their respective positions, and only get sound out of the front speakers, and bass. I have hooked each plug up to my cd walkman, and each of what speaker is supposed to play does play. (Logitech told me that it must be my motherboard if each of the plugs work with their respective speakers on a walkman. I have emailed shuttle, but have yet to receive a response(if any). Also, I noticed on the lower left of the motherboard that there are 2 sets of 4 pins each, that say, rear out on one, and center/bass out on another one. I do not know what these are used for?
I have made sure all connections are tight, and that in windows sounds and audio, the choice, "5.1 surround sound" is selected.
I must be missing something, or not enabling something?
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks for any help at all in advance.
Jason
