No sound on Biosatr TA890FXE motherboard with ATI 5850

I am not getting any sound on Windows Xp with this motherboard. I have installe dthe latest Realtek Drivers but still there is no sound. I have checked the speaker connections. Does anyone have any idea how to get sound on this motherboard?
 
Was the sound working previously or is this your initial build? If it's a new build I would make sure that the onboard audio is turned on in the bios.
 
Yes sound is turned on in BIOS. It was working before but when I installed Windows XP and the drivers for the motherboard, the sound is not working.
