No sound in bioshock.

I installed the original bioshock game on my computer, and I noticed that during the actual game play, there is no sound. I can't seem to fix this in the audio settings either. What can I do to solve this problem?

Bioshock is a great game, but I kind of want to play it with sound....

Could this be a problem with my realtek onboard audio?

What you want to do is uninstall the game; once that's done throw the package with cd enclosed into an open fire. Hate that game .

Is bioshock the only program giving you no sound?

I seem to recall you need to enable the Realtek Digital Output. Some bug for Realtek onboard audio

Something like that anyway.

Disable EAX in the game; only Creative supports EAX 5.0 (what the game uses) properly.

Disable EAX + install the latest sound driver for your motherboard.

installing the latest sound driver for my motherboard is what fixed it for me with that game

The part of bioshock where the submarine you are supposed to board explodes, and then you go into the airlock chamber where you are supposed to enter the next level, the door shuts behind you, and it appears that you are trapped indefinitely. I've tried reloading saved games dozens of times and the exact same glitch happens every time.
