my friend just got a sony a150 as a gift http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bi...bookComputers_A_Series
straight out of the box it has no sound. You know when u first register ur name and info on windows XP, i cant even hear the windows chime when u start up.

All the drivers are installed and working correctly when i checked the device manager.

When i try to go to contol panel, under sounds, speach audio etc, and click on one of the menus (sounds audio device properties) everything is unhighlighted to where im not allowed to adjust anything. ive never seen this b4?
yes i am logged in as a system administator. like i said this is a brand new computer!
please help

Does it let you even adjust the volume? If it doesn't then it is broke, disabled, or the right driver isn't installed. If there a function key to disable the sound? Tried headphones?
