No sound from center speaker during calibration

Somewhat similar to this thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=27&threadid=1540676 but there's not any real useful info there that I haven't already tried.

Anyway, I have an Audigy 2 ZS mated with Altec Lansing VS3151 5.1 speakers. All cables are connected correctly, all drivers are updated, CMSS has been enabled. The problem is that when I run the speaker calibrator, I can hear "Front Left", "Front Right", "Rear Left", "Rear Right" from the corresponding speakers. However, I cannot hear "Front Center" from the center speaker. When I play any DVD movie using either WinDVD or PowerDVD, the voices from the center speaker are extremely low and virtually non-existent. When I loaded up the game The Chronicles of Riddck: Escape From Butcher Bay and go in front of any character, it's the same deal: extremely low voice that's virtually non-existent.

I've been searching for the answer to this problem and haven't been able to get any. I even posted on the Creative forums but there's been no reply there. Any ideas on what I must do?

So, when you tried moving a different speaker to take the center's position, you got the same effect of no sound?

The audigy is setup to do 5.1?

The Altec's speaker connectors are such that you cannot swap different speakers to different positions. Each speaker has a unique connector that goes into only one slot in the sub.

But I'm sure that it's not the center speaker problem since I can hear sound from it while watching XviD-encoded movies, or for that matter any avi file. It's only during speaker calibration, DVD movies, certain EAX games that the center speaker doesn't output any sound, and if it does, it's extremely low.

I FIXED IT!!!!!!! Went to dxdiag and brought down the sound acceleration from Full Acceleration to Basic Acceleration and the center channel now works fine. Thanks for your assistance.
