Recently installed burner which has MusicMatch as part of bundle, but when I click on the CD button in MusicMatch it shows the song titles and the progress pointer moving yet I don't hear anything.

I can open the cd with Windows Media Player so I know it plays, and I can open disk files with MusicMatch so I know it plays.

Any ideas?

MusicMatch is probably playing the CD-in analog signal and you don't have an analog CD audio cable from that drive to your soundcard (or motherboard if onboard audio).

WMP is playing by doing digital audio extraction through the IDE drive cable and using the WAV data for sound. There may be a setting in MMJB to have it do the same, or you can hook up the missing audio cable.

I've had this same problem last week. I also just added a liteon burner when I realized the problem so I thought it was having 2 cdrom drives that was causing the problem.

My mistake was, previously, I had connected my two-speaker to the rear output of my soundcard to test if I can get rear channels. I forgot to plug it back to the front output. When I play a cd audio using realplayer or winamp I couldn't hear anything, but I did using the default win2000 cd player. Apparently, winamp and realplayer doesn't use a 4 speaker setup. With the win2000 cd player I was actually hearing the rear channels.
