No sound, ASUS A8N-SLI Premium

Hey guys, I am getting no sound when my speakers are plugged into the green plug at the back of my board. I have tried both the official nForce4 driver set 6.86 and the latest unofficial drivers from nforcershq.com (nForce4 Fernandos XP 32bit Performance Pack v3.0). The latter includes HD Audio Driver v1.00.00.26, and after installation I see an unknown device for "Multimedia audio controller" under device manager. So I installed the Realtek AC'97 drivers available on the ASUS website (A3.66 ver5.10.0.5750), but I still get no sound. From the Realtek website, I installed A4.04 ver5.10.0.6280, but again no sound. Whenever I plug in speakers or headphones into the green port, the RealTek EZ-Connection window pops up with the error message: "The audio devices may not be connected properly. Please refer to the correct connection and check below connectors: Front Speakers."

Audio on this board worked fine before, but I recently moved it from one rig and installed it into another which already had WinXP SP3 installed. I did have to do a repair install after swapping boards to get XP to work. Now everything works fine except no audio. Any ideas?

Never mind, figured it out! I didn't connect the chasis 10-pin audio connector to the on-board front panel audio connector. I assumed that the front panel audio connector does not mean the rear audio connectors??? But somehow not connecting this disabled the rear outputs. WEIRD.
