"no socket" FTP error PLZ HELP!

Well my prob is that I have a ftp server running on one of my computer and when I tried connect with Computer B w/ various different ftp clients, it accepts the login/pwd but then I dont see any of the directories, but simply get a NO Socket msg. Im running xp on this computer. However when I use computer C (on the same router, got three comps at home) It logs in fine? So i have no idea whats going on... then again i'm a newb! Any help will be greatly appreciated
