Ok This is my problem, I am so upset I am about to cry. :'(
I bought an Nvidia 740 GT from Amazon, after calling EVGA turns out it was too new for my motherboard even though I did my research on it and thought it would work so I sent it back to Amazon got my money back.
EVGA suggested one that would work my PC, either the GT 610 or GT 640. So I bought a
GeForce GT640 EVGA Video Card 02G-P4-2643-KR 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI-e 3.0 x16 GPU
The problem I had with the card is during the installation of the drivers my monitor says no signal and goes blank but sometimes they do install but after the installation after I reset my PC my monitor says no signal and goes blank after the windows logo at start up. It shows the card in device manager while my PC is in safe mode. I tried all the trouble shooting that the EVGA tech supporters told me to do as well as trying things myself i found online. Things i tried are: updating the bios, uninstalled all drivers with DDU then reinstalled, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers many times, reste the cmos in bios, installed the oldest driver and the newest one and one in between, installed drivers in safe mode and normal mode, cleaned my pc with CCleaner, installed only the graphics driver and not the extra stuff that comes with it like geoforce experience ect, I checked my power supply voltages in the the bios 12v, 5v and 3.3v all are working correctly.
So EVGA said I have a faulty card, since its still under warranty untill september of this year, they had me do an RMA and I sent in the card and they sent me a replacment card and I got it today and that card is EVGA GeForce GT 640 4096MB GDDR3 Single Slot, Dual DVI and mHDMI Graphics Card 04G-P4-2647-KR
Well the exact same thing happend, no signal. So I went online to look for more help and after reading something, I thought I never tried to see if there is anything in windows updates that would help and turned out there was two updates so i installed them and those updates were
nVidia Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3, Graphics Adapter WDDM2.0, Other hardware software update released in November, 2015
This driver was provided by NVIDIA for support of NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
I restarted my PC and it seemed to work, went to desktop but after a few mins. no signal, so i uninstalled drivers again and re installed the one right before the latest one. and this time it seemed to work better. It showed up in device manager, everything seemed to be installed correctly ,right away i went into Nvidia controll panel, checked some things. Then i also cleaned pc using CCleaner and the regular disk clean up browsed the web no problem, brought a game up Roller coaster tycoon 3, no problems, I even played Skyrim for 15 minutes with no problem, all running smooth. Then i shut off and on my PC it booted up normal, i shut off and on again and no signal, so i uninstall and re install drivers again this time doing the oldest one, same thing but It works sometimes its random, sometimes it freezes during start up,sometimes it goes blank after 5 mins after going to desktop, or right after windows logo.
Maybe I haven`t tried everything, I just don`t know what to do, I`m about to go crazy :`(
I will probably call EVGA again but I wanted to see if I could get different help on here.
So if anyone out there could help, I would love you forever.
