OK, here's the deal. Built a system for a friend about 2 years ago. It has been running fine since then. The other day, he decided to upgrade to a LCD. When he started the machine, all he got was an error saying there was no signal to the monitor. Plugged up the old CRT. Got the same error! The machine starts all fans and the hard drive spins. But it never beeps to signal good CMOS test. Also the "disc in" light on the cd drive is on and the drive is locked.

He had also bought a second machine from me several months ago. It gives the same signal error when hooked up to these same monitors. Hooked the machine to another known good monitor at work and it also gave the same error. I had an old PCI video card laying around so I installed it. Monitor gave same error.

This is completely blowing my mind. 2 CRT's and 1 LCD all giving the same error. Also tried 2 video cards. Could the LCD have blown a motherboard? If so, WHY?

Any ideas as to what could be going ON? I could really use some!!

Are you using the same cable to test all three monitors/PCs?

Sometimes one of the pins will loosen up and get shoved back into the plug and cause this stuff..

Is there onboard video that has turned on somehow and needs to be disabled?
I would also try reseting the bios.
