No signal to LCD, motherboard? Something else?

I picked up an A8N-SLI Deluxe on 1/3/06, good stuff good stuff.
I get my hands on an X300SE video card FINALLY around the 25th, plug it in, all connections are ready to go...aaand no signal to the monitor it seems. I plug in a 2nd monitor, nothing.
All the lights are lit, fans are spinning, dvd-rom churning away, hdd's spinning, but a blank monitor.
I try the card in the 2nd pci16 slot and still the same thing.
I try the card in a 2nd pc, it still does the same thing.
So I return the card and go looking for a new one.

6800GT arrives today, I plug it in, no signal to the monitor. I try the 2nd monitor, no signal. I'm going to try the 2nd slot again....

Any suggestions on what else to try or look for? I don't have a 2nd pci-e rig around anymore to test the gpu but it doesn't seem like this is a GPU problem now.

I appreciate any insight on this problem

edit: attempted to boot with only gpu, cpu, ram (unplugged rom, hdd's) - nothing.
edit: going to try and clear CMOS now. - nothing

reseat the gpu/ram/cpu on the mobo while its not mounted in your case and maybe its just a loose part,

a bad motherboard could have killed both video cards actually, hopefully not though but your first one was dead... get ahold of another mobo if he above test had no results, use a new mobo to test your cpu/ram and video card in. btw, are there beep codes when there is no ram plugged in? (providing u have a pc speaker connected to the mobo)

no beep codes at all, ever....
even if there is no RAM in or no GPU.

on another note, the keyboard doesnt show any sign of life whereas everything else lights up.

It's probably not POSTing. Try switching the locations of the memory modules for dual channel. That's what was wrong with mine. I used the ASUS POST Reporter to find that out. Hook up a sound system to the integrated audio out port on boot-up.

the power supply your using does work properly and can post a working system? does it give all the right voltages? if that power supply is good then its the mobo (which is what i always tend to blame).

if its not even giving errors when there is no ram inserted while a speaker is connected then its a dead motherboard and you would have to rma it since it will not post... opt to cross ship when you call their rma dept since its 3x faster than waiting a whole month for your board to come back. since your first video card was dead, your rma'ed one or cpu may be too, hopefully not. so you need to check them all still, good luck.

Wellllllp, board is shot.
Guys at a local PC store were nice enough to test my components for me and everything but the mobo worked flawlessly.
Damn asus....damn damn asus.

thats what im hoping for too but i may just pick up something else and sell this thing off. AM2 is coming up anyway, haha.
