Hello everyone,
I have a asus p5ne sli and went to replace my old video ( pny 7300 gs ) with a Pny 8800 GTS with 320 Mb and when i went to power up i get no signal on my monitor. I checked all the connection and they look right. I place the old one back in and that gives me no signal now also. Everything worked fine before i went to replace the card. The only thing i did was before i shut my system down i went to device mgr and deleted my old card then did a shut down. Now i can not do anything. Can anyone help me on this.

Is the computer beeping? Running in the background when you power on when there's no video? You have to be more specific than that.

I do not know if it loads windows because i am getting no signal on the monitor. I get no post errors on the computer so it does seem to boot up but it does nothing from that point.

You have speakers connected to your computer don't you? You can easily determine if you are loading up into windows how your hard drive is seeking and hearing the windows welcome sound.

If it loads windows it could be your monitor. Bad cables, bad connections, etc. If it's not loading windows you are having problems inside your computer. Not necessarily your video card.

Is this an OEM computer like Dell, gateway?

I built the rig about a year ago. It consist of a Antec 900 case, P5n-E sli mobo, P4 dual core, 2 gig corsair pc6400, 500 gig seagate HD with a dvd r-rw. This board did not come with onboard video so i purchased a pny 7300 gs to start and would upgrade later. I no have a pny 8800 gts and i installed it but now i get no video at all. The monitor works because i am using it on my laptop.

Without more info you aren't going to get answers.

If your hard drive isn't seeking to windows than it's hardware problem insider you computer.

If that's the case you might want to re-sit the ram and video card. Check all cables and make sure it's inserted correctly.

I have had the LCD stop working for no reason on several occassions too.

1. Bad DVI cable -
2. Bad video card -

last, but most common

3. LCD needs to be reset (shut everything down, unplug it from the wall, disconnect cables, plug it in, reconnect cable, fire it up)

I had the exact same thing happening on my computer. Put in my old video card and it powered right up. I think my video card is shot. Have you tried a different video card? Do you have spare or a friend who will let you try his?
