I know I'm probably just begging for a vacation here, but I would like an answer please.

link to my question

My concern here is avoiding a vacation for myself in the future. What was so seriously wrong with his post that it demanded a vacation? Mod-taunting? Pics of women in burqas? A pic of an Amish woman? Had he done something else like that in the past and been warned?

I appreciate open dialogue, and any time the Mods do something like this seemingly arbitrarily, and then refuse to answer why they did so, it just makes me question the openness of the forums here. When is one of my posts, which I think falls well within the accepted norms of decency, going to invoke the wrath of some Mod who not only gives me a vacation but also refuses to tell me, or others, why? (heh, I can hear the sarcastic replies already)

I appreciate the work you Mods do, but when you just lock my thread without an answer, what kind of message are you trying to send?

edit: thanks in advance, I swear to god I'm not trying to be annoying little pissant!

Apparently your first lock wasn't hint enough?

I know that it's not a democracy, and I'm fine with that. They can lock the threads and give people vacations if they want to. That's their job. However, I think that they should at least explain their reasons for locking threads / vacationing people, if only so that others can avoid the same punishment in the future. Their reasons are obviously not open for debate. They have the right to be as arbitrary as they want to be. But, we should at least know the rules if we're expected to play the game, no?

I didn't even bother to look at the links. When there are many people neffing up a storm and trolls at the gates we don't have the time to follow every link or check to see if the member is joking. That said, his account has been reinstated as of 5 hours ago.

The Arbitrary Mod does not have time for that.

I agree with you, that information should be made available. But I don't see it happening. Send them an email and ask your question. Oh wait, emails aren't answered either. That's just the way this forum is and I still like it.
