No screen during POST and a beep code.

Award BIOS, one long and three short beeps.
I have found two different explanations for these, a video card or video memory error and a keyboard error, although i think the former is more likely the correct one as i do not get a boot screen. I have tried two video cards that were known to be working (and also two keyboards). Any other explanation than a bad board or a bad video card?

Have you tried to strip it down to a minimal configuration? Eg: one stick of RAM, processor, no hard drives, video card (or use the integrated graphics if available)

Thanks for your response.
CPU, memory, video, power switch, reset switch, speaker, keyboard and mouse.
Removed mouse and reset switch and just got started.
