No right click-properties in an explorer window?

The title says it all. I'm using Win2k SP2 and as of a couple of nights ago I can no longer right click on a file or folder to get the properties menu. This only happens when I'm in an explorer window. When it is something on the desktop, I have no problem getting the properties menu. Help! Thanks in advance.
