No reviews are available for the Antec EA-650?

I read some reviews for the Antec EA-500 and they were generally positive regarding the performance of the PSU. The main cons were the 80mm fan and the fact that it was a bit plain and ugly.

Well, the EA-650 has a 120mm fan (though it's at the top instead of the exhaust) and appears to have some kind of a metal finish. It also has 69A along 3 12V rails instead of the 34A on 2 12V rails of the EA-500. It's also ~$90CAD after applicable taxes.

Yet, there are no reviews, so I'm hesitant to jump on it.

The 120mm fan is on the top, that's correct. Just like many many other 120mm fans. In fact, I think it's pretty much a wash where the fan is, on top or on the bottom. In the back usually means its 80mm, and won't be as quiet.

Can't you grab a 650tx instead? Then you know for sure. I can't say how the EA 650w is, just like you can't. Judging by the past it could be decent, but who knows?

It's a bundle. Antec Three Hundred + EA-650 for $120CAD or so.

I'm not powering anything that would require a lot of money, I don't think. A hopefully overclocked E2160 and an 8600GT that will be upgraded once I have spare cash to whatever is best when the times comes.

For the money I don't think you can really go wrong. It's 80 plus certified, and it's most likely built like the other earthwatts units, or like the neohe blue modular power supply which is also pretty good.
