Long story short, the 4 pin connector on my motherboard was loose and got pulled while the computer was running. After that, absolutely no response from the power button. I know I likely fried something, but what? Power supply, mobo, CPU....?

try shorting the pins on on the MB where the connector goes with a screwdriver or something metal. It's possible the wire is messed up.

First, while the PSU is unplugged I would check all the mother board connections with the PSU unplugged. Then if you try to jump the Power switch you only jump just the two pins for the power switch and be very careful they are small and it is easy to cross power to unintended places if you are not sure what to do get a local friend to help out or you may end up causing more damage.

Take care,
Amos

Guessing the mb as it is more sensitive to the voltage spike when it got disconnected.

Disconnect the psu from everything in the case and use a wire or paperclip to short the green wire to any black wire on the psu connector for the mb. Psu should start.
