No response from AGP slot in Giabyte GA7IXE MOBO!

Cannot get any type of AGP card to work at all, cannot even get a display up on the screen! I plug the agp card in, making sure the primary display in the bios is set to AGP before installing the card, then when I turn the machine on I just get three beeps from the mobo, I assume this means it could not find a video card. Thing is the card does not even power up! BUT when I take out the sound card the fan on the card does actually fire up but the display still does not turn on and and I still get three beeps from the mobo.

This has happened with two different AGP cards, a matrox g400 and now a leadtek winfast geforce sdr.

Could my AGP slot be fried? Could my power supply not be big enough?
This board is meant to work with 4x AGP cards, even though it only supports upto 2x, could this be a problem also??

Please help as this is really annoying 🙁

P.S I have the latest bios for my motherboard!
