No Recycle Bin in Vista ?

Ok, so this morning I finished installing Vista for the first time. All seems good so far but I just noticed that there is no Recycle Bin on my Desktop, where is it ? I guess I might have deleted it ? Or not ? Do I have to set it up on the Desktop manually ? I'm sorry if it's a newbie question, but it's my very first time with Vista.

And, on a side note ... what's with the thick letters everywhere ? All my text seems thicker, more bold than with Windows XP.

Well, thanks guys.

You must have deleted it.
Right click on the desktop and click on "Personalize".
Click on "Change desktop icons".
Select "Recycle bin".

Cleartype is selected by default. You must have not used Cleartype on XP.

If you want to disable Cleartype, do this.
Right click on desktop and click on "Personalize".
Click on "Window Color and Appearance".
Click on "Open classic appearance properties for more color options".
Under "Effects", select "Standard" instead of "Cleartype".

Edit:
Or, just uncheck "Use the following method ....." if you do not want it to smooth font edges at all.

I'd honestly suggest you give ClearType a chance. It is so painful going from ClearType to non-ClearType at this point that I can't fathom not having it on.

So far I am not used to it (ClearType), but perhaps it looks better to me because I am on a CRT monitor, and that maybe it's good specifically for LCD's, that's maybe something to take into consideration. But for me, non-ClearType text looks better, letters aren't so thick that it looks like there is no space between them and they're all sticked between them, that's how it looks on my monitor.

ClearType is not really useful on a CRT - it was intended for LCDs. If you don't like the font - change it. You can customize that easily.

I've used cleartype on both LCD and CRT monitors and I found I preferred Cleartype on both monitor types.

Me too. ClearType rocks. I'll admit it is suited more towards LCD but I was able to discern a noticeable difference in my old CRT days with it as well.
