No Radeon for Macs...

Oh Baloney,

Apple needs ATI as much as they need Apple.

No matter how upset "the Steve" was over being upstaged
(like that's never happened before?), no-one in either
company is so stupid as to throw away years of corporate
handshaking over something like this. Especially at a
time when they need each other to assist in promotion
of their new product lines. Apple is still trying to
push the iMac and new Macs for their Video capabilities,
and ATI is trying to protect their reputation for the
quality Vivo capability of their cards.

Keep in mind that none of the Radeon boards (Mac or PC)
are in wide availability yet (Mac cards not expected
until September), and this will provide ATI with time
to perfect their own packaging and promotion (and drivers).
In the meantime, Apple will continue to use the Rage 128
cards, until they have Radeons in high availabilty.

If you go by the link from the other anandforum thread:

...that article hits me as mostly hearsay and speculation on the
part of Brad Gibson. Only time will tell for sure, but I'll be
willing to bet that there will be Radeon cards for Macs in some
form.
