No Radeon 2 until October!

Radeon is doing just fine. Q4 in fiscal terms, which is what ATI would go by, ends September. So, I think they will have a R200 out by Oct/Nov. Geforce 3 is a ripoff right now. Unless you are a graphics professional or game programmer, or just got a lot of money to burn, there is no need for it.

Oh, yes, ATI will still be around to launch it. Their total sales deal with much, much more than retail 3D gaming cards. And Radeon2 will be faster than GeForce3, or so ATI says. But who cares, the real question is will it be faster than NVidia's fall refresh of the GeForce3?

... and the stopgap Radeon SE is a 200/400 card according to reports. Seeing as my retail 32MB DDR Radeon runs at 215/400, I already have an SE. I really was hoping for a better card than that, something more along the lines of 250/500 which would rival the Ultra.

I'm personally glad that they are waiting.. 6 month cycles is a killer on my check book. I'm also tired of chucking a video card soley on the merits that there is a better one available.

Also don't forget, there is a little bit of ATI in every GameCube (ART X), this should be a nice pocket padder for ATI.

The results of overclocking a Radeon are much less than that when overclocking a Geforce2. However, you will see improvement when you overclock your chip. (I got like 2600 @148/148 and 3000 with 183/183 in 3dmark2k).
