I'm not the biggest tool fan; definately a bigger Zep fan but I like the Tool cover better.

The only reason I brought it up is because I saw another thread where a bunch of people said No Quarter was their favorite Zeppelin song, but I personally couldn't ever get into it after hearing the Tool cover.

Wasn't sure if anyone else thought that as well.

Tool's version is one of the most awesome musical pieces to come out in a long time.

The solo of the live version of No Quarter from The Song Remains the Same is probably one of the best instrumentals ever recorded. It's amazing!

Both are great for their own reasons.
Seriously.
Choosing between Tool and Zep is like choosing between these.
(You're welcome guys.)
Yes, please.

I'll see if I can snip the solo portion out when I get home. If you guys are good I might be able to do video ;)

I have never heard the Tool version, but would very much appreciate the ability to do so (for free)

A deft cover indeed, but the Zeppelin track is creepier to me still. Didn't they slow down the recording to give it that eerie sound?

The Tool version is awesome, don't get me wrong... but I don't like the opening few minutes where the lyrics are all muffled sounding. In the original, you can hear Plant's voice much better.
