No PSU love on AnandTech?

Just wondering if there is any reason that AT doesn't review PSUs, and doesn't include them in the RTPE? Just wondering. I trust this website more than any other, so PSU purchasing has been sorta hit and miss for me.

I'd love to see more (good) PSU testing out there, but AT so far has not done any.

THG and SPCR both do very good PSU testing, if you are looking for recommendations. Silent PC Review, in particular, does efficiency testing (which is hard to find real numbers on).

You should send an email to Purav Sanghani, he's AT's case editor and would likely also be the person to talk to about getting PSU reviews.

I have yet to see a site that writes reviews more thoroughly than anandtech, and the ones that write as well, have an ugly, hard to navigate page.

Several review sites come to mind.

www.techimo.com/ Has a number of very current PSU reviews.

www.madshrimps.be/ does some decent testing and seems fairly honest. They don't have a long list of tested PSUs.

www.hexus.net..Is a Brit site that has a long list of tested PSUs and a round-up or two.

www.jonnyguru.com..Has the gear for real world load testing and seems to be a stright shooter. Links at his site for his reviews. He does post here once in awhile.

www.zippyusa.com..Openly lists all independent testing of their PSUs in pdf.

We do have a couple PSU round-ups in our archives. Just have to search.

THG, for what it's worth.

JonnyGuru actually writes for SLCentral, and his PSU reviews are the best I've seen, by far.

Have you talked to Purav?

No, who's that. The anandtech guy who would do the PSU reviews? I sent an e-mail to Anand about it, but it just hasn't worked out yet.

The review at THG was the best for stress testing. But even then the psu's did not have to contend with dirty power coming in from the wall outlet, room temperature fluctuations etc.
Component reviews like cap rating and brand would be interesting as well.

Most reviews don't introduce proper stress testing and do component reviews. They just plug it in and take mb readings. Pretty slip shod and pointless in my opinion.

Ya, Purav's the case/chassis editor, so he would be the logical person to talk to about PSU reviews.
