After a reboot, my computer would not recognize my hard drive. I left the computer off for 1/2 hour and when I pushed the power button nothing happened. When I turned the power on at the PS, the fan would start, the LED's would come on and then everything shut down. I had the PS checked and it's apparently good. What should I try next?

It could be a large array of things. First guess would possibly be a burned cpu, second shorting to the case, third heat, fourth mobo.

Not in that particular order, but shorting out or fried cpu sounds like the most likely culprits.

I found out that you shouldn't trust repair shops if what they say doesn't make sense (they tested my power supply and told me it was fine). I put in a new power supply and found that everything works with the exception of the hard drive. I'm guessing that the hard drive poofed and took the power supply with it.:)
