No power windows and door locks in a car is a PITA

Maybe I'm just spoiled by all the power accessories availabe in my car but after driving a rental that had virtually none, I would never buy another car without them. Sure power accessories will break more often but the convenience is more than worth it.

does lotus elise have power windows and locks? if not, they're unnecessary.

I think they're an option on the standard elise, but exige does not have them.

If I had a nickel for every time I accidentally hit the trunk button on my key fob, I'd be a rich woman. :(

My favorite is the timed headlights. They come on automatically when I start the engine, and shut off at a pre-set interval after the engine is shut off. No more forgetting. :)

Power windows and locks are a necessity in the NorthEast. Just clean off the windows by rolling them down. And it beats putting de-icer in the door lock.

I have two doors. I can reach both. And when I'm waiting for someone in a parking lot, I don't need to turn the key to roll down the windows.

With a four door car I can see the advantages, with two, I like manual.

I wouldn't do that. I have knocked my window out of the track many times before learning my lesson on that one.

I don't have power windows or locks on my truck. Don't want them either. Just more crap to break and get charged up the a$$ to fix.

My headlights just turn off when I turn the engine off, unless I do a manual override type thing. They don't come on automatically though. Not quite sure how that's necessarily a useful feature

I have an auto feature for my lights were they come on and off according to a light senor.

It's not bad if you're going on a multiple day trip.

Those annoy the crap out of me on my wife's car...
There are many times I want the engine running, but preferred not to have the headlights on.

I wish I had MANUAL windows; mine has broken twice. It's a pain to tell everyone "Don't roll down the window! It won't come back up unless I take the door apart!"

I like having manual friggen everything on my truck. Power steering, power breaks, and air conditioning is all you need.

Actually the truck I had before my current one didn't even have power breaks or steering. I had no problems driving it. Having a wonky AC sucked though :(

Um ... that's just a daytime running light. Headlight is something that you have to manually turn on.

easy fix - disconnect the window switch ;)
Guess I'm lucky? My '93 has no trouble with the power locks or windows...

Many of the newer cars now have automatic headlights (feature is engaged by switching lights to Auto mode). There's usually a sensor that detects the amount of light outside and turns on or off your headlights.
