Hi folks, I'd like to buy an Antec NEO ECO 520C 520W for a new computer, but it doesn't come with a power cord.

Can I just take the power cord from my current 6 year-old Dell and use it? Does it have to be an Antec power cord with special specifications?

Thank you

Weird...that's the first PSU I've ever seen that didn't come with one.
Yes, the cord from your Dell should be fine. The plugs are pretty universal. (or at least, every one I've ever seen was identical where it plugged into the PSU.
If you lived close, I have one I'd just give you...but shipping it would cost more than it would cost new from one of the on-line places.

Power cord from the dell will be just fine. I wonder if that is a OEM PSU, but I can't tell from the pics from newegg.

the "GREEN" PSU's from a few makers now do not include the cord nowdays. like mentioned above though who doesnt have like 50 sitting in a box by now. I literally have a box full of them.

Shrug it's pretty easy to plan for a power cord if you don't have extra. Just check a psu to see if a power cord is included for "green" ones.

The majority of Antecs' PSUs don't have a power cable, for green reasons.
And some low rent PS makers haven't include power cords for other $$Green$$ reasons.
This practice has been around longer than the "global warming" craze.

I think it's for the retail big-box stores. Just like printers not including the USB cable. It provides an opportunity for the store to up-sell them on an expensive cable. Not coincidentally, I believe that Antec is also now selling power cords for like $20 retail.

Edit: I checked BestBuy, I don't see an Antec-branded power cable, but they do have a Dynex for $12.99.
I also noticed that they carry the ThermalTake TR2-430 PSU, for freaking $64.99!

Thankfully, power cords are easily obtained at most electronic stores. But it should be included at little or no extra cost. You can't use it without one. What if you don't have one handy and need to get a unit up in a hurry ? ? Now what do you do ? ?

Power cords for PCs haven't changed in like 20 years.

But it's pretty stupid to not include a power cord with one. If it is your first PC you're putting together, you may not have one lying around.

I'd be fine with this if they had a redemption card in the box, which would let you request a free one in the event you don't have one laying around.

Yea my last 2 PS did not have cords but as said, I have a pile of them so it was not a big deal.
