I have an ASUS A7V-266E, ATHLON XP 2400+, 512 MB Crucial 2100 ram (2X 256 sticks), WD 80Gig SE, Gainward GF 2. A couple of weeks ago one stick of ram went bad and I RMA'd it. The new one arrived and I installed it. Now when I start the computer the HDD lite stays on, the CD lite blinks and NOTHING. I unhooked the HDD, same thing. Took out both sticks of RAM and got the long beeps. Put the ram in another machine and it works there. Have checked all conncections and all are fine. I reset the CMOS, no change. Any Ideas?
Thanks
Tim

[*]Pull the mobo out of the case
[*]Reseat the cpu & hsf
[*]connect the powersupply, one stick of ram, and the video card

What happens?

Well now you only have 3 more items to swap out.

[*]mobo (most likely)
[*]cpu
[*]psu (doubt it's the prob)

Thanks John, I think I'll let it rest until tomorrow
Of course I'll entertain all other suggestions then.
Thanks again

You could always swap with a known good user as well. ;)

John,
I swapped CPU's and the CPU from the faulty machine works in the other.I suppose I'll go to Newegg and get a new Mobo.
Thanks. As for swapping for a new user, I'll take Jennifer Garner. :D
