No Post No Beeps Nothing

Will i turned the new PC on i got into the bios fine...i messed around with the Softmenu 3...it said that the PC was running at 1.9GHz when it was to be at 2.53...i upped the speed, saved and exited and it shut off on me. i turn it on, No beeps, nothing on screen, nothing...the fans power on and everything...i'm using the intel stock heatsink now and when i checked, the temp was at 42C at 1.9GHz...how do i clear the CMOS on the ABit IT7-MAX2 v2? Can anyone else help? I don't know if it saved and exited but all i know is that i went to save and exit and it shut off.

Seems like it might be a power supply problem. Try swapping it with a higher quality one with more watts (400W or more would be good). Your motherboard manual show show you how to clear the CMOS. It's usually removing the CMOS battery and leaving it out for 10 minutes or so. Other things to check is to make sure everything is seated correctly. Try taking everything out except for the hard drive and RAM. If that boots, add one item at a time. Hope this helps.

resetting the CMOS 'should' do it. The exact thing happend when i got this PC. I spent loads of time completly rebuilding the pc, to find out that all it need was a reset of the cmos 😀

Look in your manual to see where your CMOS jumper is on your mobo. Unplug your machine and move the jumper. Plug it back in and turn it on. That should clear your CMOS. Now unplug your computer again and move the jumper back to it's original position. Turn on your computer and all of your BIOS settings should be back to its default settings. This should enable your computer to start again.

Also, don't try to change the clock setting if your CPU is "locked". It will only crash.

I left the CPU lever up after cleaning out dust from the heatsink once with the same effect (No beeps, no nothing) and struggled for days to figure it out. I didn't think it could possibly be that because "I never took the CPU out."
