This problem was due to bad ram. Luckily mushkin gives a lifetime warranty.

I got a new antec 900 case and put all of my old computer's guts into it. I ran the system without the front usb for a week or so when I decided to plug them in, however there was room to plug them in one slot too far in either direction. Of course that is where mine ended up. Here is where the problem started....

Overclocking or overvoltage errors during post was the first problem. I changed the settings back to default and things seemed to be fine until my next couple of cold boots. The same error came up, and then it started the no POST.

Specs:

p5w dh deluxe

e6600

8800 gtx

mushkin 8500

corsair 620

I have two drives: 1x raptor sata 1xpata

tuniq tower with the fan adapter

I plugged in two of the case fans and also the monster exhaust fan on top.

I was overclocking the cpu to 3.4 with a one or two notch bump up on voltage. so that was one of the first things I thought of.

I have changed my p5w to a p5k deluxe, I purchased an e6750 which is currently in, I tried a different video card and monitor which only leaves ram and psu. I am trying an older psu with just the bare essentials to see if it will post, and then get the appropriate psu if it does.

This is more of a rant but I would like to know if it was the stupidity of my plugging in the usb incorrectly, or perhaps I am reaching the limits of the psu? This would be quite frustrating to me if it were my wrong doing that caused this. I already toasted my old vid card due to the same problem, pligging power in improperly PEBKAC!

Thanks for everyone's input! I will not be able to respond until later, due to the lack of computer at my home. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have plugged the USB in the wrong way as well. I found out when I blew out a memory key and Joystick.........zoinks! However, the machine itself ran w/o a hitch.........

you may have shorted out the board when you plugged in the front usb ports incoreectly. if you could post the following info, it will help.

Motherboard Manufacturer and Model:
BIOS Revision Number (if known):
CPU Manufacturer and Model and Speed:
RAM Manufacturer/Type/Model Number/Module Size:
