no POST no beep -- what's broken?

OK, so I've had this computer for several months. The mainboard is an ECS A-754, the cpu is a sempron 2600 OCed to 2ghz. This has been running fine, until I recently upgraded the BIOS. After the bioz upgrade, it began randomly freezing -- although that usually happened only when the computer had been left alone for a half hour or more.

Yesterday, I was playing oblivion and it crashed(don't remember if it locked up, froze, or what) and now it won't boot at all...no post, no beep, no nothing.

Is the cpu fried? The mainboard? How do I tell?

After flashing to new bios, the cmos needs to be cleared out.
You do that by moving a juimper to a "clear cmos" position, and while the jumper is moved, also unplug the power supply cord from behind the case, and pop out the cmos button battery for awhile. Most people say do it for around 5 or 10 min, I do it overnight.

After, then replace battery, replace jumper to regular position, replace power cord.

Then boot into bios & set it as you like.

Suggest you try this now & see if it solves your problem.

edited for a typo
