NO POST, mysterious ticking instead

Hello brothers and sisters, ok probably just brothers 😀

So i've encoutered this weird issue. Out of the blue, a few days ago my PC would not boot/POST. It's fairly new build. Few months old. No problems until then. And one morning...baam. I haven't found many people with the same issue. His conclusion was at first that this is a mobo issue, which i think it is and that's why i'm posting it here. But it was case & mobo shortage in the end. In my case though, i took the mobo outside of the case and tried to connect just RAM and CPU. Which did the same thing. I tried to put the RAM into a different slot and no change. At this point the mobo is the only suspect i got. I'm about to send it for RMA, so i wanted to check with you guys, if i haven't missed something.

Gigabyte h81m-s2h (interestingly similar board..)
I5-4690K
Seasonic SSP-350GT
8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical
Samsung EVO 850
Windows 10

I should add that after many trials, i managed to boot up. Then the system ran a whole day without problems. So whatever part is faulty, it managed to be suddenly ok. If that's in any way relevant..
 
Not from the PSU..It's from the internal speaker. And btw. when the ticking occurs, fans and lights are working.

Just from personal experience I had a PSU go bad that would power the fans and such but the computer still wouldn't boot on the thing. If it were me I'd want to rule it out before RMAing the mobo. Is it all still working now?
 
Well, i thought that there's a beep code for a PSU failure. It should be, according to Gigabyte, continuous short beeps. But it means "normal beeps". Not these ticks. So either it's one of those rare cases where there's no beep code or it's simply not a psu failure. As for the pc still working - no, here's what happened. Once i turned it off and tried to turn it on, the system instead of booting restarted itself 2 times...and then booted up and ran fine. But that was at night. In the morning, i tried to turn it on and got the damn ticking again..

Btw. i've just realized that this ticking sound - i mean one of the "tick" sounds exactly the same as the "tick" before computer is rebooted. When rebooting, computer first does this "tick" sound and one or two seconds after that comes the POST beep. Therefore it occurs to me that maybe my system gets into some kind of very rapid rebooting loop. So fast that it won't come to POST beep. Have you ever heard anything like that? And if so, what would be the cause of it?
