No POST, Motherboard or Proc?

Hi all, been a while since I've been online on Anandtech. Got a troubleshooting issue that I know you guys will nail. I built a HTPC with an Antec Aria case, Epox 8HMMI Micro ATX board, 1GB Patriot RAM, and Sempron 2800 Athlon 64 processor w/ an ATI All In Wonder vid/TV card. It ran pretty OK until last night. I was upgrading all the ATI AIW drivers and got through the graphics drivers. I turned it off and went to bed. When I got up to continue, I got no POST, no beeps, and the HD LED was stuck on.

So far I've tried removing and replacing all boards, removing everything in pieces including the memory but not processor, and nothing changes. Reset the CMOS jumper, but I doubted that would do any good. Still no POST, no beeps, monitor does not come on. Does this indicate a bad processor or bad motherboard? Or is this possibly a bad power supply??

Thanks in advace
James

I will take it that you unplugged your computer and tried to reboot it that way? If so, please tell me exactly what happens when you push the power button on your pc. Also, does your PCs motherboard have onboard video? If so, you may need to plug your monitor into that first, boot to the BIOS and choose to turn off any onboard video devices.

let me know how you make out.

I've unplugged it for extended times, esp when popping cards in and out. When I plug the power supply in, I hear this light transformer noise like a CRT turned on, very very high pitched, very soft. Then I hit the power button and the HD LED comes on, all fans come on, but no beeps, no POST. With the monitor hooked up to the onboard video, it still turns on the HD LED, all fans, but no beeps or POST.

Not to steal your thread, but I have this problem, almost the same, with my RMA'ed motherboard. Just installed it and I get the HD LED stuck, fans turn on, and all disk drives self test, nothing after. Although mine will only turn on with the CMOS in reset, dont ask me how I know. Im going to triple check my connections, but I think something with the BIOS is fubar on this mobo. Good luck with that, Ill be watching this thread, lol!
