No Permissions

Hey guys.. a guy brought in an external hard drive that had a user account with p/w information.. he cant get into those files.

So i plugged it in to my pc that has xp pro on it and i made me owner of those files so i can view them. The problem is... no one else can... how do i remove those permissions so they are just normal files?

yes but i cant open the files on anohter pc.. only the folders

Only NTFS file system has these security features. Make a FAT partition and copy all those files to it. Now you can open it in any computer.
