no password how?

I have laptop in my bedroom, and connected with intel phoneline network with desktop in the living room. Both on win98. My laptop is setup so I have to punch in password to get the screen where the network is active. When I just punch in escape button with login I get no network functioning.

Is there anyway I can configure so I get the full network just bypassing having to enter any password?

Thanks,

Greg

Well, you have to login, but you might try TweakUI to cache your user/pass and autologon when you boot windows.

Do what snow patrol said... and then do a search for all the *.pwl files on your harddrive... one of them should contain the username and password u enter when u start windows (you should be able to tell from the filename)... delete that file and restart your PC... next time u enter windows, it should prompt u for a new username and password... just enter a username and no password and windows will not prompt u for a password again...

TweakUI will do it, or you can open regedit and goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Logon Create a String Value and name it Default Password, modify the data to correspond with your password.
Reboot and it should automatically log you on.
Word of Warning: Using either TweakUI or the registry modification (They both do the same thing) will leave your user name and password in PLAIN TEXT, so that anyone with access to the registry can see the default password.
