What does it mean when your video card graphics drivers install ok, but when you reboot to use them and xp has finished booting up and is about to go to the desktop, your screen goes idle?
 
if the monitor works up until you boot into windows, its either a driver issue or a hardware issue. If it was working fine before, then its a driver issue. It basically means the GPU isn't sending any information to the monitor - what GPU are you using, and what drivers have you just installed?
