So I finally got the ram and built the Taichi rig. Everything is working fine except when I go into the Bios, I don't see Instant Flash (I already have the latest bios saved on my flash drive in fat32). How am I supposed to update the bios?

On my Asrock z170 board I can tap F6 and it switches screens between a basic overview screen and the more advanced settings screen like in your pics. On the basic overview screen at the bottom in the middle is an option to use instant flash.

Not sure if the x370 Asrock boards have a similar function/layout but it might be worth checking out.

You have an older version of the firmware.
Your version doesn't support re-flash from within the UEFI.

Reflash it using the DOS or windows version. Once you are past 1.60 version, the option to flash from within the firmware appears.

Thanks, I have tried to avoid flashing in Windows because of some horror stories but looks like I will do that tonight.

Does that board have some kind of flashback feature that would allow you do perform it from a usb drive outside of windows?

I'm in the same boat as OP was, just months later (with a 1.40 board) except now it seems support for the older drivers that apparently came packaged with their dos flash utility or their dreaded windows update version are no longer on the site (or the links aren't indexed).

All I can find are 2.00 -2.40 and the zip files just contain the bios file. I downloaded an old ASRFLASH utility elsewhere just to try my luck, and even tried renaming the bios file with no luck. I either reaaaaally haven't done this in longer than I remember or they just didn't expect anyone to have old firmware still. Either way I can't get a response from then and I'm stuck sitting on 1.40 lol.

Get the dos version and flash to 2.0 which will then have the function to do the instant flash and internet easy flash as well. After that, feel free to flash to 2.40.

According to ASRock, it's 1.50 and later for Instant Flash (not sure about updates checking over internet).
