In Conroe OCDBs across the Net I rarely see anyone using high-speed memory like Corsair PC2 8888, OCZ FlexXLC, Mushkin Redline, Geil Ultra PC8500, etc.
I can only attribute this to one or more of the following:
1. High memory speed lowers CPU overclockability
2. Serious compatibility issues
3. Everyone still believes low latencies trump high memory speed
4. It's simply too expensive
I do a lot of video editing so memory speed is important but I don't know if bumping up the mem speed has any impact on getting a higher oc out of the CPU.
Comments?
