Anyway, because I'm actually a really nice guy (I just play an asshole on ATOT), here's your fix. Try a different disc. If new disc doesn't work, try yet another. If that disc doesn't work, then the drive is dead. Use those trust funds we all envy so much to buy a replacement drive, because God knows only the rich elite can afford a sub- $50 dollar DVD drive and I am sooo envious. And fsck, spend some of that wealth on an education. Hate to be a spelling nazi, but "deminstrated"?... wow.
