The economy sucks..

Some people, Republicans, think the economy is just fine. Their reasoning: I've been through worst times than this. So just because they've seen worst times, they think this is nothing. Well, they're old so they have money saved up and they're high enough in the latter to where they probably won't get laid off so they can say it. Its the young Republicans who are agreeing with this reasoning that I'm worried about.

They'll continue to vote for BUSH even though he's done virtually nothing for the economy. The worst thing is they keep on saying: What, you think a democrat would have made a difference? Well, I would sure like the chance to find out. We've got nothing to lose now.

Me, not claiming party affiliation, but definitely not claiming Republican.

You actually believe it matters who's in the White House? The economy has very little if anything to do with the president..

Ah I think you better learn something about the stock market. Consumer confidence is all about the President and Washington. High confidence in the president leads to a robust and active market. The earnings reports haven't been that bad. There is even a small amount of growth. But people aint buying or spending because they aren't confident about Washington and the disappointments in the corporate sector have just made it worse.

I dunno, some republicans drum too often about how reaganomics fixed a bad carter economic hangover. You can't have it both ways.

At anyrate, Bush doesn't seem terribly concerned on taking action on the economy. I agree it's not his fault, but he's not really doing anything to help either.

Reagan had 8 years and it took time after that... Bush has only been in office since 2001.

It matters. The right president will have the right cabinet in place and make the right plans to stimulate the economy. The wrong president will do nothing. Who's doing nothing now?

Tax cut does nothing for the economy. There's no direct stimulation to the economy. He's depending on it to make people spend. Would you spend your money just because he allows you to keep more? Most people would just throw it in their savings account because worst days are yet to come and that does nothing to help the economy.

Going on 2 years out of work now. If the Economy is like this or worse this time next year I would say that GWB would have no chance because even the Electoral College I'm sure is affected by this recession by now.

I did it for 6 mos...7 if you don't count the 1 month of car sales that didn't pay much. Had several interviews but I guess I was either pricing myself out (some jobs are opening up now but the salaries are sh*t) or I was outgunned by one of 100 other people.

Even though GW has little to do with the current state of things, and is not hamstrung by the government...

yup..in bad times, it's all about connections. unless you are on the top of the food chain (ie: tons of experience, certs, ccie, ph.d, mba from a top 50 grad school, etc)
