Am I the only one watching this show? It's pretty awesome.

Anyway, the sigil for the Baron is extremely similar to a thread I remember there being in these forums where someone wanted to create an armadillo logo or something. I was wondering what happened with that and if that logo was going to be used for the show.

That's when I did a search to see if any other ATOTers thought the same thing and I couldn't find an official thread.

the first episode was funny bad. I told myself I would watch maybe 2 or 3 more, but I forgot to do that.

I've been watching it, I'm liking it so far. Decent visuals, fight sequences are pretty good.

The Widow is hot: she know da Kung Fu, swordplay, and easy to look at.

Sarah Bolger's character... goes PG-13 nude and bangs. What else, I don't know.

It isn't the best show on TV or anything, but it's certainly entertaining. It feels like a Zhang Yimou film adapted for TV kinda... that and maybe a video game adapted for TV.

If you liked "House of Flying Daggers" or "Hero," you'll probably enjoy this.

Either way, does anyone remember that one thread about a year or so ago where there was someone asking for help to create an armadillo logo, kinda like an ouroboros. I can't find it anywhere. But that same logo idea is being used as a sigil in this show. I was wondering if it was simply coincidental.

I got about 20 minutes into the first episode and turned if off. I thought it sucked and I just didn't care about any of the characters or the story and the fight scenes are just ridiculous.

I can see how some people may like it for the limited qualities it has. It just isn't my thing though.

This is easily the worst show I've ever seen. The concept isn't awful, but the writing, acting, and cinematography are just the worst.

I heard it was really, really bad. On the surface it seems like something I would like (big Banshee/Strikeback fan), but from the promos I've seen it just looks cheap.

I kind of like it... two episodes in. But I don't see this show lasting. It has potential for a mini-series but not much else is happening.

I checked out a couple episodes on AMC's site and its pretty good. The Widow is pretty bad ass, and the guy playing the Baron is always a great villain. If anything I think they are milking it a little too much. Sonny and his crew should already be making their way through the Badlands.

At this rate, it looks like the Baron is going to die unless he suddenly gets emergency advanced surgery in ass-backwards land of no guns, son is going to take over, then the Widow does something.

I would stop watching if this is planned as a multi-season thing where Sonny slowly trains the Neo-kid... then 5 seasons later, the show ends with the kid taking Sonny's baby momma to safety.

watched first episode. nothing spectacular but but willing to give it a shot, especially since everything else is going on break now.

speaking of crappy shows, I have 2 episodes of Bastard Executioner left. Debating whether to watch them or not? I really have no interest in the show. Spend 2 hours watching that or 2 hours doing anything else? lol

Meh, I'm enjoying it. It's getting to the point where I'm more excited to see Badlands than I am for whatever train-wreck episode of TWD happens to be on.

that's because TWD pretty much sucks rocks. I still watch it (I'm a completionist and can't help myself) But God damn... TWD is just horrible.

The universe for the show is kinda strange. There are vehicles, but only regents seems to use them, and they do it sparingly. No guns, but a working X-ray machine and somewhat sophisticated prosthetic limbs. And everyone knows super kung fu. It reminds me of Afro Samurai and Ninja Scroll, which is fine by me, but it does make me wonder how they go to where they are tech wise.

I'm really on the fence on this show. The acting and the story are really bad. The visuals are stunning at first but then just become background noise. I do love the old wire Kung Fu so I watched the second episode just for that. I'm not sure if that'll keep me in as I doubt the rest of it will. I really doubt it'll last much longer, even with them pushing the hell out of it with all the Walking Dead sneak peek stuff.

I'm enjoying it so far. That and El-Rey's "Flying Five Finger One Armed Eight Pole Shaolin Exploding Death Touch Thursdays" are 2 of my favorite TV times.

Wait, I just realized something. If guns are banned, where are all the bows and arrows, crossbows, slings, javelins, blow darts? They have ninja stars.

P.S. Damn, we really have lots of ways to kill people from out of reaching distance. Thank god for gunpowder and soon electromagnetism for rail guns.

I kinda wonder if there was some sort of armistice between the barons due to whatever caused the fall of their society. I think I remember something like that before in a movie or tv series. Without an arms race it sort of keeps everyone on check because the playing field is level. And it could have been that way for so long that gun powder is a forgotten tech. It could be applied to any ranged weaponry, although like you said the one girl uses throwing stars, and the Widow uses throwing knives.
