NO Notherboard Drivers Needed in XP????

A former big IT guy told me absolutely that when installing xp it installs the drivers for the motherboard and all that driver installation we used to do is no longer necessary. Can anyone confirm or deny this as I am about ready to install.

I have 8kha and a K7S5a

Depends on if you want OpenGL as an option for 3D,

If so, you need to use the latest NVIDIA driver for that. The vid driver that XP provides does not give OGL. It is also a good idea to use the new 4in1s as well

I guess he is a "former" IT guy for a reason. ;)

The latest drivers are going to provide a performance increase. In some cases it may be marginal.
