Just give it to Jaimee Fox right now. Just got done watching Ray, and it's one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I don't know how anyone can top the performance that he gave.

If he doesn't win the Oscar it will be a travesty.
 
I honestly couldn't disagree more. Ray was a decent movieat best, and just because one can do a good impression of someone does not make them a great actor. I think it's much harder for an actor to create an original persona and make it believable.

Edit: Though I do agree that he is going to win

But the talent that it took to portray him so well? The way he handled himself and everything with the shaking and whatnot was very good.
 
Dead guys get all the awards...just look at the Grammys 😉

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm probably gonna get it on DVD
 
I agree. Also - hheeh - we just watched "Breaking All the Rules" with Jamie Foxx, and I CANNOT BELIEVE that is the same actor. He truly did such an amazing job as Ray - a seemingly supernatural performance. When you portray the person so well that you *resemble* them physically, that's Oscar-worthy. 10/10
 
I think Foxx is a great actor. I watched Ray and Collateral in the same night - very different characters and he handled them both very well. I was VERY impressed with his performance in Ray. Is he Oscar material? I'm not sure. Is he a great actor that has come a long way? Most definitely.

you and everyone else on earth. Although I (and many others) didn't think he was deserving of the oscar, I don't know anyone who wouldn't put money on Foxx getting it.
 
is he any relation to Redd Foxx (sanford and son guy)??
