i was reading online about applecare comparing prices and stuff (amazon is the cheapest place you can buy it from, unless you have a studen discount) and anyways i came accross this post on digg.com

http://digg.com/hardware/Ameri..._Buys_You_A_New_Laptop

For this who dont feel like reading that whole thing, basicly any warranty your laptop or electronic device has, amex will double it as long as you have proof of purchace and copy of manufacture warranty.

That made me curious as to whether my providian visa has the same extentended warranty because thats what the card i used to pay for my macbook.

anyways a good search came up with this which has more info:

http://www.moskalyuk.com/blog/...your-credit-cards/1175

so in the end, im not getting applecare, my credit card will pay for repairs or replacing my laptop or even giving me back the money i paid for my laptop and pay the different to buy a new one.

heres the number u can call for more info, or u can call for them to send you a registration form for u to register you product with them , even though its not necessary its just better just incase u lose your receipt.

for visa

With Amex, its not technically double, its double the manufacturers warranty up to 1 year.

Also, not all Visa's provide the service, it depends on the issuing bank.

My mastercard doubles the warranty on things too. They do have some restrictions though, best bet is to call them up and ask.

Had forgotten about this. Bought my laptop and my mom's laptop on my AMEX Blue Cash Back.
