i've gone into the bios and it's set for a single display. i do see the very faintest of a flash on the lcd when booting but that's it. works fine with a monitor plugged in tho...
i'm in the prcess of loading xp pro on it to check it out, since it will boot off the cdrom (no floppy). thot maybe it was a driver issue.
i don't know squat about laptops. since this was a gift, i have nothing to loose but would like to get it going for email and the net.
tia ;)

Try to find a assemby/dissasembly instruction for it and work your way to the display connector. Check it!! I doubt its a driver issue. System starts at boot with a standard VGA driver that will run all VGA devices.

Elvis2,

I'm on my TP 600 right now. Have you tried hitting Fn-F7? This will swap between using the external monitor and LCD display. I think it should be booting up with the LCD in use, but it's worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet.

Definately check this.
But the connector inside could be loose.
Give it time when trying the Fn-F7, though.
