I see them at the grocery store and hear ads on the radio... Are these things any good?? It's like $13 for 4 7 ounce steaks...

by "no name" do you mean "no brand" or "unknown part of the caw"?

If it's "no brand" they're probably fine. I wouldn't try the "unknown part of the cow" though.

The meat is hand picked by the founder of the company(or at least they used to be) and are considered to be the best steaks they've had by many people who buy them.

Never heard them myself, just read a little bit about the companies history in a food industry mag.

Hmm, is this part of the 'No Frills/No Name' brand they have up in Canada? I remember when they opened up a No Frills/No Name grocery store. Everything came in bright yellow boxes/containers with the 'No Name' logo. It was socialism at its finest!

Ok I work as a butcher up here in Canada. HEre theres really only two types of meat "black angus" and your regular type of meat. Everyone will try and tell you this meats soo much better than this meat blah blah blah.

Just check to make sure its AA or AAA grade meat and your fine.

One day I'll let u guys in on the secrets of a meat deptartment I think youd be shooked at what goes on in Deli's and meat dept

These steaks sound good, but how do they stand up to the mighty Omaha Steaks? Or those tasty steaks they have at Smith and Wollenskys?

I've had them, and I also butcher my own beef. They are very comparable to high quality meat and if you want a real kicker, soak them in vegetable oil and your favorite flavor of marinate.
