No Multiplayer in UT with ATI Radeon 64 DDR

Hi All...got an Unreal Tournament issue...driving me bonkers :disgust:

When I try to play a regular UT multiplayer game (4.36 patch applied) with my new ATI Radeon 64 DDR in D3D or OpenGL mode, I cannot connect...but I CAN play multiplayer in the Software Rendering mode?...which is horrible...I can get to the internet, e-mail, ping, etc...the game plays fine otherwise (non-multiplayer). If I put my Creative Labs GeForce Annilahtor Pro in (6.31 drivers), I can play the multiplayer fine (all modes....no issues).
Obviously, it's the Radeon, but what gives with using D3D...I've tried the supported/non-supported Radeon drivers (currently 4.13.7041), to no avail. I've uninstalled, cleaned registry/folders, etc, reinstalled UT, applied the patch....still no good (with Radeon in D3D or OpenGL)...all other programs, games, etc. work great...no lockups, very smooth. Running DX 7.0

Tried ATI's site, forum boards, planetunreal, Epic (e-mailed them too),etc....no good

PC Clone
Abit BX6-rev. 2.0--QR Bios
CII 533A @896 Mhz
ATI Radeon 64mb DDR...not overclocked
448 mb RAM
SB Live! X-Gamer sound
Maxtor 30.7 GB, 7200rpm drive (13mb free)
Kenwood True-X 62 speed CD-ROM
Win 98 SE
Cable modem....no firewall, no Black Ice running

To summarize, UT multiplayer works fine with GeForce, install Radeon DDR card, and I cannot play multiplayer in D3D or Open GL...Software Rendering only!!

Did I miss something....Any help would be appreciated...I'm a MCSE (network engineer....double frustration ), so you can talk "geek" to me

Try posting this in General Hardware it will get more help. Also, you tried the Rage3d.com forums? They are good and might want to if you haven't.

I got a Radeon 64mb DDR and UT works fine in D3D with the 3056 official drivers. Those are the first ones I put on when I got it and they work fine. I haven't tried OpenGL though but D3D is fine for me.

I'm going to try the 7041's in 10 minutes or so I'll see if those work but from reading at Rage3d, just about all of the driver versions work fine.

Thanks for the reply....have installed the 3056 drivers...no good.

Will double-check the rage3d site again...really a strange problem :Q

Naa seriously thats why I don't buy ATI too many driver problems.

What's weird is that I KNOW my internet connection is OK ( obviously ), and everything else works great...good color, no issues at all, except UT multiplayer.

I give it a few hours, and back to the CLAP card
