No mouse/keyboard in linux <- newer developments, but still not working.

I've got a Microsoft Internet Keyboard pro (PS/2) & Intellimouse optical (PS/2) running through a Belkin KVM (which supports linux) to a linux box. I just installed RedHat 7.2, and have no mouse/keyboard once I type "startx". Help.

Edit: I tried using xf86config a couple different times, along with a re-install, and nothing seems to be working. Is it probably a driver issue? Could it be that I have it pointing to the wrong device (not /dev/mouse or /dev/psmouse or /dev/psaux (ones I've tried)).

What is interesting is that it worked in Redhat 7.0 I had trouble only when I switched systems (using the KVM), and in mandrake 8.1 I had no issues regarding the mouse. I would just use Mandrake 8.1, but I kinda prefer Redhat 7.2. What else can I do to help fix this?

ok, in the process of everything I've done I accidentially deleted my /etd/sysconfig/mouse file. I'm guessing I probably need this, but when I try to run mouseconfig it gives me errors now. I tried XFree86 -configure, and at first it worked, but found no mouse, then I changed some stuff in mouseconfig & XFree86 found a mouse, but it didn't work when I tried using that config file. I then tried removing the mouse file (oops) and now XFree86 still finds a mouse, but still don't work.

Edit Again:
I tried installing RH7.0 & everything was fine, but when I upgraded to RH7.2 upon my first boot it said that device "Generic PS/2 Mouse" was removed. It worked during setup, so why would it suddenly disappear now?

Final Edit:
I changed to using the USB ports on my KVM & everything is working perfect. Go figure

ok, yeah I tried that & got a text-based questionare that had a bunch of stuff I wasn't too sure on. I guessed on a bunch of it, but I'm pretty sure I got it right. However when I went to do startx after that it said there were syntax errors in the XF86Config file. I tried fixing them, but there were a ton of 'em. Should I just reinstall redhat considering I would be loosing all of 5 min. worth of work?

It's xf86config, but that's what I tried & it didn't work.
