No mouse for Windows 98

Don't know alot about Win 98. I'm trying to run a win 98 machine without a mouse or keyboard pluged in.

It's an old machine and uses serial mouse. While booting windows, a window pops up to tell me that I have no mouse attached and that I can attach a mouse now.

Windows won't continue until I click OK.

This window also has a check box that says 'check this if you don't want to see this window again.

But I can't select it without already having a mouse plugged in and if I've got a mouse plugged in I won't see the window.

Does anybody know how to turn this mouse check off while already in windows. So I can use pcAnywhere to do this.

Attach a serial mouse for booting the PC. Then after you've booted the PC you can remove the mouse (physically).

well you can do without the keyboard, but you will need to plug in a mouse long enough to get into windows and you can remove then. well thats what i have to do anyway and have not found a way around that one 🙂

I like your idea but when the machine reboots I'll have the same problem again.

The only way I've seen round this is to find an old serial mouse and leave it pluged in.

Anybody got anything better.
